A MOMENT'S INDULGENCE - Rabindranath Tagore

Found this beautiful  A MOMENT'S INDULGENCE - Rabindranath Tagore I ask for a moment's indulgence to sit by thy side. The works  that I have in hand I will finish afterwards.  Away from the sight of thy face my heart knows no rest nor respite, and my work becomes an endless toil in a shoreless sea of toil. Today the summer has come at my window with its sighs and murmurs; and the bees are plying their minstrelsy at the court of the flowering grove. Now it is time to sit quite, face to face with thee, and to sing dedication of life in this silent and overflowing leisure

Best things in life

Life is a series of miracles

Love matters most

Love is the most important thing. It's not about how much you have, how much you know, or how much you do. It's about how well you love. Love is what matters most.

a nice poem by Rumi- Masnavi

via amazon.com A nice poem by Rumi We are as the flute, and the music in us is from thee; we are as the mountain and the echo in us is from thee. We are as pieces of chess engaged in victory and defeat: our victory and defeat is from thee, O thou whose qualities are comely! Who are we, O Thou soul of our souls, that we should remain in being beside thee? We and our existences are really non-existence; thou art the absolute Being which manifests the perishable. We all are lions, but lions on a banner: because of the wind they are rushing onward from moment to moment. Their onward rush is visible, and the wind is unseen: may that which is unseen not fail from us! Our wind whereby we are moved and our being are of thy gift; our whole existence is from thy bringing into being. From the book : Teachings of Rumi (The Masnavi): The Spiritual Couplets of Jalaludin Rumi ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What is the soul? Consciousness. The more awareness, the deeper the soul, and w

The Three Stonecutters

via moolanomy.com Once upon a time, there was a traveler who came upon three individuals working with stone. Curious as to what the workers were doing with the stones, the traveler approached the first worker and asked, “What are you doing with these stones?” Grumpily and without hesitation the worker quickly responded, “I am a stonecutter and I am cutting stones.” Not satisfied with this answer, the traveler approached the second worker and asked, “What are you doing with these stones?” The second worker paused for a moment, sighed, but smiled a little and then explained, “I am a stonecutter and I am trying to make enough money to support my family.” Having two different answers to the same question, the traveler made his way to the third worker and asked, “What are you doing with these stones?” The third worker stopped what he was doing, bringing his chisel to his side. He looked at the traveler with a beaming smile on his face and declared, “I am a stonecutter and I am b

kashti ka rukh mod - other side of wonder

Its a beautiful story...sent across by a friend....and it reminds me of a similar experience in the past - tackling and solving an extremely difficult problem - just by looking at the other side of it! One of my favourite quots ("sher")--> nazar badli to nazare badal gaye, kashti ka rukh moda to kinare badal gaye! नज़र बदली तो नजारे बदल गए कश्ती का रुख मोडा तो किनारे बदल गए A Father was reading a magazine and his little daughter every now and then distracted him. To keep her busy, he tore one page on which was printed the map of the world. He tore it into pieces and asked her to go to her room and put them together to make the map again. He was sure she would take the whole day to get it done. But the little one came back within minutes with perfect map. When he asked how she could do it so quickly, she said, “Oh…Dad, there is a man's face on the other side of the paper. I made the face perfect to get the map right.” She ran outside to play leaving the father surprised.

Best Video which made me smile

Playing for a change No matter where you are, what you are doing, what you were thinking, this video would bring a tear to your eyes and makes you smile for the rest of the day! Watch it from beginning to end—you won't regret it. Had seen this some time ago, and wanted to share it with you all! Some piece of informaiton I dug up: This cover of Stand By Me by Roger was recorded by completely unknown artists in a street virtual studio all around the world. It all started with a base track—vocals and guitar—recorded on the streets of Santa Monica in California, by this street musician called Roger Ridley. The base track was then taken to New Orleans, Louisiana, where Grandpa Elliott—a blind singer from the French Quarter—added vocals and harmonica while listening to Ridley's base track on headphones. In the same city, Washboard Chaz's added some metal percussion to it. The producers took the resulting mix all through Europe, Africa, and South America, adding new tracks with mu

Energetic energy

Energy in various forms.... how do you tap your energy? How do we rejuvenate? A smile....? to ourselves? and to ones who frown? and to strangers? Yoga? Meditation? Maybe a round on the treadmill n the cross- trainer? [Continued below the pics] Some amazing pics I found ... indicating the various forms of the enrgetic energy 1. A stunt rider 2. The use of energy across the Hong Kong skyline. 3. Power lines 4.Wave energy in action 5. Horsey Drainage Mill a coast is scattered with disused windmills. 6. A lack of energy! A man recharges his batteries :D 7. generation of light patterns sparklers [i liked this one :)] or maybe watching a favourite movie, cartoon show, or listening to some amazing music.... or strumming you favourite string instrument? or rather any other instrument? playing with kids? playing with your pet(s) gardening? just holidaying... does it always relax you? Let Thy music flow through me

Walk with me, good and loving God,as I journey through life. May I take your hand and be led by your Holy Spirit. Fill me, inspire me, free me to respond generously to your call. For I believe you desire my deepest joy, and it is only in your company that my soul will be satisfied and my life will find its meaning and purpose. Amen

A date!

A lovely fwd..... After 21 years of marriage , my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie. She said I love you but I know this other woman loves you and would love to spend some time with you. The other woman that my wife w anted me to visit was my MOTHER, who has been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my three children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally. That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie. "What's wrong, are you well," she asked? My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or a sur prise invitation is a sign of bad news. "I thought that it would be pleasant to be with you," I responded. " Just the two of us. " She thought about it for a moment, and then said, " I would like that very much. " That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house,

Life n d power of affection

Life is what happens when we are busy making other plans..... I saw this graphic, and in the first glimpse, it seemed a junkie outta d dustbin, but when I looked at it for sometime, I saw the beauty in its crumpled untidiness..... and realised that its its imperfection that gives it this "beauty", and its "uniqueness"..... Imagine a blank sheet of paper with the same letters "LIFE" written over it(u may actually do it practically) and compare this pic with it...m damn sure you'd like d crumpled one more! N now some geeku inputs, ummm.... life is not the "digital" '0' or '1', i.e. "good" or "bad", the two loner states hanging out there...all alone! rather its like a beautiful sine/cos curve(as a matter of fact, any curve) with infinitesimal moments of the "actual life" happening between the start and the end.... To enjoy life fully, we must enjoy these "seemingly tiny" moments
