Mera rang de basanti chola

Mera rang de basanti chola maaye rang deeeee! No matter how many times I hear this song...it never fails in giving me goose bumps, and ever encourages me to continue on the path of being a responsible citizen of this so awesome country #India...which so many invaders have tried to have/keep under control, but her children have always stood up and fought with valour! It's the responsibility of the present generation to take ahead the heritage and pass on to the coming generations... no matter how difficult the path... n yeah... this feeling continues beyond Aug 15 every year! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JRIhF3kh_8&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Satyagraha Against Corruption- Supporting Anna Hazare!

The youth participating in the Candle March from India Gate to Jantar Mantar, New Delhi! " What's in it for me? Why should I have been there? " was what people asked!! [I am sure the politicians literally relied on "THIS" genre of the country and would have been confident about the failure of the movement!! ] A movement - which no one thought would truly inspire and involve the youth of India to such an extent! Supporting  Anna Hazare  ji to pass lokpal bill against corrupt politicians in INDIA! There was a mixed response on the movement in the beginning... Lot of skepticism - people not knowing "what they wanted" and taking it as just another  aamaran anshan or bhook hartal !! Some called it convenient patriotism !! Some compared it to Rang De Basanti, some to some to the other movement, but  India Against Corruption has turned out to be a national movement. All over India, enthusiastic youth with special contribution from the YES!+ tea

[Time slot: 3:03 -Dhoni's Winning Shot, and 7:57 to 8:03 Dhoni's clean take - the sixer and his Confident Winning look following the ball - and him imagining holding the World Cup 2011 there and then :') :')  ] In case the above video doesn't work The Winning shot: India chased 275 runs post a very shaky situation.... well.. all dat we need is perseverance n sensible playing....  Gambhir played a sensible game and sambhalo-fied d terribly shaky tournament.. his contribution is no doubt extremely important...  I wish he had not lost at the crucial stage.... but then dh

Desh bhakti ki koi bhasha nahi hoti

desh bhakti ki koi bhasha nahi hoti (there is no language to patriotism) and this is an awesome one with Incredible shots from India A simple English transliteration of the poem is saare jahaan se achcha hindostaan hamaraa hum bul bulain hai is kee, ye gulsitan hamaraa parbat vo sabse unchaa hum saaya aasma kaa vo santaree hamaraa, vo paasbaan hamaraa godee mein khel tee hain is kee hazaaron nadiya gulshan hai jinke dum se, rashke janna hamaraa mazhab nahee sikhataa apas mein bayr rakhnaa hindee hai hum, vatan hai hindostaan hamaraa Translation Better than all the world, is our India We are its nightingales and this is our garden That mountain most high; neighbor to the skies It is our sentinel; it is our protector A thousand rivers play in its lap, Gardens they sustain, the envy of the heavens is ours Faith does not teach us to harbour grudges between us We are all Indians and India is our homeland ~~~~ Happy Republic Day of India !

I am kalaam

Watch little Kalaam who is sharp, confident and wants to fight destiny - a-la saying he heard from H'ble Abdul Kalaam ji (Well, I have been a fan of H'ble Abdul Kalaam ji :), and this sweet trailer is really heart touching...) Thought provoking, this short movie produced by Smile Foundation and directed by debutant director Nila Madhab Panda, is about a nine year old boy who aspires to overcome all hurdles to chase his dream of studying. This movie showcases the problem of child labour which still persists and a lot yet needs to be done to bring good quality education to more and more children across India (and having worked with a few of these kiddos :), I know its really tough coaxing parents into sending them for education). The movie's been showcased at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2010, and eyeing for other international festivals like Germany international Film Festival, Giffoni Film Festival, and Mostra

topi - a short film by Rihan

This is a lovely animation film expressing so subtly, simply and beautifully the poignance of partition. A briefing: Inspired by a true story during the partition of the Indian Empire into India and Pakistan in 1947, this piece follows Bir, a Hindu boy waiting to board a train from Pakistan to India with his mother. When a violent turn of events separates them, and he gets lost in the middle of a communal riot, Bir must find his mother before it’s too late. Directed & Animated By: Arjun Rihan Partition was so unfortunate... around a million people were killed and separated from families in the communal riots... I got totally engrossed in this simple story of a young Hindu boy who has a chance to encounter a stranger amidst the turbulent partition of India circa 1947.Loved the expressions... esp 354 - 410.. the comfort, bonding, understanding of the situation, maturity... Hats off to you Arjun!
