The aim of this article is to generate awareness amongst people about the various harmful effects around Holi celebrations and encourage people to celebrate an eco friendly Holi! Please read on to know about the three main environmental concerns around Holi -
1.The use of toxic chemical colours.
2. The use of wood for burning Holi fires.
3. The wasteful use of water during Holi. Around 2001, two environmental groups called Toxics Link and Vatavaran, based in Delhi, did a study on all the three available categories of colours available in the market - pastes, dry colours and water colours. The study revealed that all of these three forms of chemical Holi colors are hazardous.

Life is what happens when we are busy making other plans..... I saw this graphic, and in the first glimpse, it seemed a junkie outta d dustbin, but when I looked at it for sometime, I saw the beauty in its crumpled untidiness..... and realised that its its imperfection that gives it this "beauty", and its "uniqueness"..... Imagine a blank sheet of paper with the same letters "LIFE" written over it(u may actually do it practically) and compare this pic with it...m damn sure you'd like d crumpled one more! N now some geeku inputs, ummm.... life is not the "digital" '0' or '1', i.e. "good" or "bad", the two loner states hanging out there...all alone! rather its like a beautiful sine/cos curve(as a matter of fact, any curve) with infinitesimal moments of the "actual life" happening between the start and the end.... To enjoy life fully, we must enjoy these "seemingly tiny" moments...

ReplyDeleteAre u out of ur mind Sarika.......we can never ever think of doing such a considerate thing...we are mostly consumed by our self centric notion.....all these small petty things dont even come close in our scheme of things,or catching our imagination...Our Simian brethren are way too ahead of us........They are far more intelligent nd considerate than us....wish we could learn from them....
