India Wows the world at CWG opening ceremony

Date: Oct 3, 2010:
India stuns the world with a spectacular show at the opening ceremony of Commonwealth Games 2010 at Delhi, India

The stunning aerostat with Rajasthani puppets hanging from it and dancing...
i was just too mesmerized by that UFO typo.. err well balloon cum projector cum screen.]

It was a breath taking ceremony with the traditional dance forms, drums, music and esp the rocking AEROSTAT filled with Helium which doubled as a projection screen... !
Clever Use and concept...!

The other segments throughout the evening had the Yoga, Tree of Knowledge, and the Great Indian Journey.

See for yourself the videos here:

and part 2

The creation in mehndi by children was superb - so beautiful and traditional :)

Yes, indeed there was a lot of inconvenience to the local public due to travel restrictions, fines,  and the Delhi area turning into a military camp, but all-in -all the opening ceremony turned out to be a great show...!
Hariharan's music was as usual spell binding

India’s music maestro A.R. Rahman belted out ‘Jiyo Utho Badho Jeeto’ to fetch the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony Sunday to an stirring climax, as the crowds echoed him in equivalent measure.

It was Prince Charles  who did the honors, after being handed the Royal Baton containing the Queen's message. The President of India followed him up to the podium to add: 'Let the Games begin.'

All in all a spectacular show at Delhi's Commonwealth Games 2010 Opening Ceremony...
India Wows the world - once again!

Came across this intersting article today..... Hmmm... agreed- >" Were the differences between the sexes to be abolished, human nature would become as flat-tasting as wilted vegetables. " Men have long disparaged women for no better reason than that they simply aren't men. Let us look at that expression of masculine contempt: “Bahfeminine intuition!” Women are often, in fact, intuitive. So also, though generally in other ways, are men. Women's intuition finds expression most often through their insights into people. A wife may warn her husband, for instance, “That person you've been thinking of hiring isn't a good choice.” “What makes you think so?” demands the husband. “You've met him onl...
